Subscription Plans

The three SpecGraph subscription tiers — Starter, Professional, and Enterprise — and how plan management works.

Subscription Plans

SpecGraph offers three monthly subscription tiers. Each tier gives your organization a monthly token budget (SGT) that resets on the 1st of each month.

Tiers at a Glance

PlanMonthly BudgetBest For
Starter500 SGTSmall teams running one project per month
Professional1,000 SGTGrowing teams with 2–3 active projects
Enterprise2,000 SGTLarge organizations with many concurrent projects

Estimated Project Capacity

To help you choose the right plan, here's how many typical projects each tier can support per month:

Project SizeDepartmentsEst. Cost per ProjectStarter (500)Professional (1,000)Enterprise (2,000)
Small3~350–400 SGT~1 project~2–3 projects~5 projects
Medium5~450–550 SGT~1 project~1–2 projects~3–4 projects
Large8~600–800 SGT~1 project~2–3 projects

These are estimates. Actual costs vary based on document length, number of wishes, conflict complexity, and how many auxiliary actions your team uses. See SpecGraph Tokens for the full cost schedule.

How Plans Are Managed

Admin-Assigned

There is no self-serve payment flow. Plans are assigned by a system admin from the Admin panel:

  1. Go to Admin → Organizations → [your org]
  2. Navigate to the Subscription tab
  3. Admin clicks Assign Subscription Plan (if none) or Change Plan (to upgrade/downgrade)

Org owners and admins can also view and request plan changes from Settings → Billing, but only system admins can make the assignment.

No Credit Card Required

All billing is handled externally — invoices, contracts, or purchase orders. SpecGraph does not collect payment information.

Changing Plans

Upgrading

When a plan is upgraded mid-cycle:

  • The delta tokens are added immediately to the current balance
  • Example: On Professional (1,000 SGT), you've consumed 300 SGT leaving 700. Upgrading to Enterprise (2,000 SGT) adds 1,000 delta → new balance is 1,700 SGT
  • Next month's reset uses the new allocation (2,000 SGT)

Downgrading

  • The current period continues with the existing allocation
  • The new (lower) allocation takes effect on the next monthly reset
  • No tokens are removed mid-cycle

Cancellation

When a subscription is cancelled:

  • Tokens remain valid until the end of the current billing period
  • On the next monthly reset, no new tokens are allocated — balance goes to 0
  • AI actions are blocked until the org admin chooses a new plan or a system admin reactivates

What Happens When Tokens Run Out

  • AI actions are blocked with a clear "Token budget exceeded" message showing remaining balance and estimated cost
  • All non-AI features remain fully available: viewing, commenting, voting, manual edits, team management, approvals
  • Options: wait for the monthly reset, or have a system admin perform a token topup

Free / Trial Access

Organizations without an assigned subscription receive a small trial allocation to explore the platform. Once the trial tokens are exhausted, AI features require an active subscription.
